Doing so can result in paying more substantial fees for your luggage, or you may find difficulty in trying to find documents and other belongings when you’re inline for airport security.

When preparing for your holiday, it pays to know everything you can about the destination. That includes: what kind of weather you should expect upon your arrival? What clothes should you pack? Will you be doing a lot of walking?
Armed with the knowledge you have, it is now time to make sure that your bags are packed with the essentials and then some. But just what should you have in your bags upon your flight? Alpha Car Hire has prepared this list just for that purpose:
Clothing
One of the first things you need to pack is your clothes. Clothing is one of the reasons you want to know what kind of weather you should expect in your destination. The first thing to consider is the season. If it’s summer in Canada, you don’t go there with your most heavy winter coat. Instead, you pack your tank tops, shirts, and a light jacket.
Another thing you must know is how long you plan to stay. If you’re visiting for two weeks, you can pack seven days worth of clothes and avail a laundry service, or you can pack enough clothes to last your entire stay.
First Aid Kits and Toiletries
You can never be too prepared when travelling. Packing a small first aid kit can do wonders. Keep a few bandages, some medicine for headaches, or stomach pain, and some antiseptic. These can come in handy in case of an emergency.
Furthermore, toiletries like rubbing alcohol, toilet paper or wet wipes are also essential especially when it comes to personal hygiene
Pack only the Essentials
Apart from your clothing and shoes, remember to pack other essentials for your trip. That can include your phone, your extra glasses, chargers, or a laptop if you need to get some work done while on the road. If you won’t be looking to type up documents, or any type of work in general, it’s best to leave your laptop at home.
Knowing the activities, you will be doing during your trip will allow you to determine what you must and must not bring. This can also play a role in how much stuff you will pack for your trip.
Cash and Credit Cards
Never forget to bring with you your wallet. And make sure it houses some local tender plus your credit cards. Make sure the cards you carry has no foreign transaction fee attached to it to lessen the money you spend. But of course, cash is always better for vacations in a foreign land. It reduces the chance of identity or credit card theft.
Another thing your wallet must have is a valid ID. You may not need it all the time, but it is good to have a valid ID with you in case you need it.
Documents
Finally, don’t forget to pack your Passport, boarding passes and other necessary documents. A helpful tip is to wear a jacket with an inside pocket where you can put all of these documents for easy access. If you are not comfortable putting it in your jacket pocket, you can always store them in the pocket of your carry on so you can get it quickly when you board the plane.
Be prepared for your next trip and only pack what you need. This eliminates the bulk of your luggage and will allow you to spend more time enjoying yourself than worrying about your belongings.
